We are delighted to announce that Royal Victoria Place is set to open an exciting new street food and entertainment venue later this summer. The new venue named 'Central Market', will take over Ely Court to offer locals an exciting dining, cinema and live music experience right here in the heart of Tunbridge Wells.

Once opened, a whole host of upmarket street food pop-ups will be on offer, including Wok and Sushi, serving a range of authentic Japanese dishes; The Argentinian Grill, which specialises in smoked meats and South American inspired sides; and The Fish Grill, cooking up fresh seafood dishes daily.

An artisan dessert pop-up and boutique ice cream shop, Rolling on Ice, will also take up residency in Central Market, with many more vendors set to be confirmed ahead of the opening. Coupled with the dining offerings, a fully licensed bar will be open, alongside a specialist cheese and wine cellar.

Royal Victoria Place’s Central Market also plans to host weekly live music nights along with a pop-up luxury cinema that will also be situated within Ely Court.

As well as developing and management of food and drink pop-ups and venues, Central Market runs its own charity programme, The Community Incubator. As part of this, the organisation serves free meals to homeless shelters, organises birthday parties for children who are homeless or in local shelters, and works closely with local charities within the areas it operates in. Following the opening of Royal Victoria Place’s Central Market venue, the organisation will work with the Tunbridge Wells Borough Council to confirm a host of charitable initiatives and events for 2019.

Central Market will open from 8am until 9pm Monday to Wednesday, 8am to 11pm Thursday to Saturday and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays. Special activities for the launch will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

News of Central Market’s arrival follows the announcement earlier this month that Royal Victoria Place will benefit from an £11 million investment by its owners British Land to renovate the shopping centre.
