We are delighted to announce that Royal Victoria Place is supporting the National Autistic Society by implementing ‘Quiet Shopping Mornings’ which will take place every Tuesday between 9am and 11am.

This will start from Tuesday 9th October as part of the National Autistic Society’s Autism Hour week which takes place between 6th and 12th October. Many retailers across the UK now support this initiative and last year over 5,000 shops and businesses supported this. So, we’re proud that RVP and its retailers are joining the cause to do our bit!

Watch this video and find out why TV Presenter Chris Packham backs Autism Hours.

What is autism?
Autism is a life-long disability which affects how people communicate with others and interact with the world around them. There are approximately 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK with 64% of them avoiding shopping because it is too overwhelming.

Watch this video to see how overwhelming shopping can be for someone with autism.

We therefore want to make shopping for those with autism more comfortable here at RVP and have asked our retailers to help support us.

5 simple things we’ll be doing to make a big difference for our autistic shoppers…
